Special Issues and Supplementary Publications

NERS Jurnal Keperawatan (NJK) applies the same standards of publication ethics, editorial integrity, scientific quality, and peer review to special issues, supplements, guest-edited collections, and other forms of supplementary publication as those applied to regular journal issues.

Editorial Responsibility and Oversight

All special issues and supplementary publications must be conducted under the oversight of the journal's editorial team. Guest editors may assist in identifying relevant topics, inviting submissions, coordinating peer review, and making editorial recommendations. However, final decisions regarding acceptance and publication remain the responsibility of the journal's authorized editor.

Guest editors must follow the journal's editorial policies and publication ethics requirements. They must not make publication decisions solely on the basis of personal relationships, institutional affiliations, funding sources, or other considerations unrelated to the scientific merit and ethical integrity of a manuscript.

Submission and Peer Review

Manuscripts submitted for special issues or supplementary publications are subject to the journal's standard submission requirements, editorial screening, and peer-review procedures. Each manuscript must undergo an appropriate and independent peer-review process before it can be accepted for publication.

Inclusion in a special issue, invitation by a guest editor, or participation in a supplementary publication does not guarantee acceptance. All manuscripts must meet the journal's requirements for scientific rigor, originality, relevance to the journal's Aim and Scope, and compliance with applicable research and publication ethics standards.

The journal's Peer Review Policy applies to all manuscripts considered for special issues and supplementary publications.

Conflicts of Interest

Editors, guest editors, reviewers, and authors involved in special issues or supplementary publications must disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that could influence the editorial process or the interpretation of research findings.

Any manuscript involving a conflict of interest with a guest editor or another member of the editorial team must be handled by an independent editor who has no relevant conflict. Editorial decisions must remain impartial and based on the quality, originality, relevance, and ethical acceptability of the submitted work.

All parties must comply with the journal's Conflicts of Interest Policy.

Research and Publication Ethics

Manuscripts submitted to special issues and supplementary publications must comply with the journal's publication ethics requirements, including policies on authorship, plagiarism, research integrity, research involving human participants, and the responsible reporting of research findings.

The journal reserves the right to reject, investigate, correct, or retract content when ethical concerns or publication misconduct are identified, in accordance with its applicable policies and procedures.

Authors, guest editors, and reviewers must comply with the journal's Publication Ethics and Policies.

Transparency and Publication

Special issues and supplementary publications must be clearly identified as such. Information about their scope, editorial arrangements, guest editors, and publication procedures should be communicated transparently to authors and readers, where applicable.

Any sponsorship, financial support, or other relevant relationship associated with a special issue or supplementary publication must be disclosed when applicable. Such support must not compromise editorial independence, peer-review integrity, or the journal's publication standards.

All accepted articles must meet the journal's requirements for publication, licensing, and accessibility. Publication in a special issue or supplement does not exempt an article from the journal's standard policies on copyright, licensing, and open access.

Monitoring and Editorial Decisions

NERS Jurnal Keperawatan (NJK) reserves the right to monitor special issues and supplementary publications to ensure compliance with its editorial policies, publication ethics requirements, and peer-review standards.

The journal may suspend, revise, or discontinue a special issue or supplementary publication if significant ethical concerns, conflicts of interest, procedural irregularities, or breaches of editorial standards are identified. Decisions concerning the publication or withdrawal of individual manuscripts remain subject to the journal's applicable editorial and publication ethics procedures.

This policy should be read together with the journal's Peer Review Policy, Conflicts of Interest Policy, and Publication Ethics and Policies.
